I don't think so. It's been discussed many times, everyone has a
different opinion on this. We won't change the media player for each
release. Plus Daniel has done a great effort with the debian maintainer
on this, I don't want to see the time they spent on this wasted.
Gxine is an excellent candidate for xubuntu IMO.

I'm working on it, but having a cdbs multibuild class will not solve
everything. Only a few apps have a --disable-gnome option, thanks to
Jani for most of them.
