Jani,

I also placed a new desktop files which runs "startxfce4-svn" which 
exports a new path variable, with my home/bin directory listed first. It 
then calls startxfce4 as usual.

Everything seems to work, except for a very, very long load time after 
logging in (~15 flashing mice;). I still have to sort that out, but I 
get no errors anywhere...
