I used lpstat too (:    I haven't looked at the code for xfprint, but
theoretically, yes.
but python is so much more fun than C.

for the next rev, i'm going to figure out how to turn on cups network-polling,
for detecting printers over the network.  Then it'll do everything
gnome-cups-manager does, except thier GUI is nicer/more helpful
