some of the problems as you note are present in the other ubuntus so it's
better to file bugs (if not already done)
in LP for them.

As for help/documentation we are behind with that but will get it right for
release.
This depends on upstream xfce too updating it's docs to reflect 4.4, and
also on xubuntu specific docs
