   * deleted patch 01_log_to_syslog since hald clutters up the syslog too much;
     if debugging is required, hald can be started in a terminal, then it
     prints its messages to stderr
   * added patch 01_init_block_dev to properly initialize attributes of block
     devices at hal startup (before, volumes were not recognized as mounted at
     startup which causes odd errors; see Warty bug #1059
