One question: How do you want to solve the chicken-egg-problem in this
case? D-Bus and HAL are started very late (at least in my configuration).
Most "traditional" services are started before.

This would be sad. :-(
In my opinion Suse and RH have a very ugly script patchwork for its
system startup and they use it to make their systems unigue. I expect,
they never will switch over. I like the clean and simple design of upstart.
