Of course it's sad that isn't commonly used. What you say is true.

Well, in the 90s this argument was simply true, because multilog was just 
better, everyone could see it if he didn't fear the different way DJB's 
tools handle things and are configured.

But in my eyes this doesn't change that I think logging via syslog() isn't 
optimal because it leads to alot of redundant code which, in the end, makes 
an admin's life just harder.
