Hi;

I've just subscribed to this list.

upstart is imo the coolest new feature since udev :-)

I've only tried to boot a couple of times since installing it, and
it's basically working, but there's a few quibbles.

1) Trying to boot into single-user mode, I didn't get there - what I
got was a message something like "init: not being run from init"
(sorry, I didn't write it down, and it isn't in syslog), all 6 ttys
aborted and respawned, and then I was left at a login prompt - but no
way into the normal system startup after doing what I needed as root.

2) At that point, there was (as expected) no X, so I tried "init 2"
(probably not the proper way to do it, but I've always used "init 1"
to get into single-user mode, and again got the "init: not being run
from init" message.

3) From a normal startup (which uses the "quiet" boot option), Scott's
blog said there would be a "slightly more verbose boot" - I get
_nothing_.
