[Bug 1480769] [NEW] check-mir should support a release option

Public bug reported:

It works based on the apt cache on your local machine, so it doesn't
currently support checking dependencies in another release of Ubuntu.
This would probably require a complete refactoring of the script to use
a different source of truth.
