This is the same bug as:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synce-trayicon/+bug/469048

The solution listed there in post #2 worked for me, shows the bug is in
the dbus activation file that comes with synce-sync-engine package.  Odd
that synce-trayicon reports ":success" ...
