Well to follow my last post:

I downloaded 0.9995-1 from
http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/libo/libodbc-ruby
/libodbc-ruby1.8_0.9995-1_amd64.deb

Install it on my server and it "magically" works.
