[Bug 428476] Re: xsane crashes after aquire preview

I have posted this bug elsewhere as well,

the help from Henrik Daver to Reini68 and others is much appreciated  !!       but it does not work for me   :-(
after installing the Jaunty libsane and then xsane my Epson 4990 is not recognized at all,    after updating the libsane to Karmic through synaptic    the Epson 4990  is recognized again but          " Invalid Argument "      again ...... 
and also like Sofi W :      "GtkSpinbutton: seting an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated"

any other suggestions ?
