I can confirm this bug.
If I have turned glipper on for the select clipboard and then try to mark something in LyX, the selection goes away immediately. The selected text is visible in the glipper menu though and I can paste it aswell.
So this is bearable if I select a word using double-click, but if I mark something by dragging, then the glipper menu is filled with entries with just one or two letters, because he constantly starts over again.
@Michael Nagel: The bugs you referenced have to do with binary or non-parsable content, which seems not to be the case, because glipper shows the selected text correctly in the menu.
