I'd tested everthing that whas already posted here, but it still had to
fail somehow.

user at server:/home/user# sudo tail -n 10 /var/log/dkms_autoinstaller

dahdi (2.2.0.2): Installing module.
  Kernel headers for 2.6.31-14-generic-pae are not installed.  Cannot install this module.
  Try installing linux-headers-2.6.31-14-generic-pae or equivalent.

user at server:/home/user# sudo apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.31-14
-generic-pae

After that, apt-get update, apt-get upgrade, and it's fixed in this
case.
