Thanks for your report.

This is fixed in the latest dev release.
interchange (5.7.3-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * new upstream release
  * use virtual host instead of system hostname as server name for the
    demo catalog if FullUrl is enabled
  * keep virtual host name supplied by the user
  * moved CSS and image files for UI from /var/www/interchange-5 to
    /usr/share/interchange-ui
  * updated translations of Debconf templates
    - Swedish (Closes: #551948, Martin Bagge <brother at bsnet.se>)
    - German (Closes: #548512, Helge Kreutzmann <debian at helgefjell.de>)
    - French (Closes: #547482, Christian Perrier <bubulle at debian.org>)
    - Czech (Closes: #530488,  Martin Sín <martin.sin at zshk.cz>)
    - Russian (Closes: #529052, Yuri Kozlov <yuray at komyakino.ru>)
    - Portuguese (Closes: #522496, Miguel Figueiredo <elmig at debianpt.org>)
  * lintian fixes
    - drop execute bit from tags in /usr/lib/interchange/usertag/standard
    - made debhelper versioned dependency compliant with debian/compat
    - added ${misc:Depends} for all packages
    - added -e flag to maintainer scripts
    - create /var/run/interchange at runtime

But another issue was introduced see bug 519402
