[Bug 337146] Re: lyx spellchecker does not work

I'm using LyX 1.6.4 in Mint 8 Helena, and mine got 25% through the
document, then popped up an error that said, "The spellchecker has
failed. No word lists can be found for the language de_DE."

My default (and only) language is set for English.

This error occurred after running the abovementioned quarter of the
document and adding a number of terms to the dictionary, though a number
of terms did not add but instead kept coming up as misspellings.
