nope, i believe this is not a duplicate bug.
bug #382941 tells that ipod can not be found.

In this error, iPod is found, but there are some errors.
Check the description. I believe it's not the same.

I experience this problem too with iPod nano 4th genereation.
Ubuntu 8.10 Karmic i686.
