I had the sample problem when coloured text from Matlab (which runs on a
Java engine) was on the clipboard. I had no JDK installed at all, but
now I've just installed 6-16 which will hopefully fix this for good when
I restart.

In the meantime, thanks for the work-around - just copying unformatted
text from a text editor onto the clipboard lets me re-start TB.
