** Description changed:

Sorry for the lack of knowledge, I am a new user with linux/ubuntu.
I am using ubuntu 8.10 x86 32Bit. I received the error message after selecting both the Educational and Scientific Astronomy packages. The Educational package appears installed and working fine. The Scientific Package gave the error and does not appear to be installed.

If there is a log file generated I would happily attach it but I do not
know if this is the case and also where it would be located.
