This bug still occurs in Kubuntu 9.10 Alpha6 amd64.

It seems that when you select a directory from the Directories
Navigator, the leaf-name of the previously selected File is appended to
the selected Directory Name.   This means that the files in the selected
directory are not listed as available for selection.

The problem still occurs where it is not possible to close the Praat
Picture Window.
