Setting these lines did not cause ubiquity to detect my RAID0 volume.
     sudo mkdir /var/lib/disk-detect
     sudo touch /var/lib/disk-detect/activate_dmraid
Also note that I have observed ubiquity correctly detect my RAID0 volume on an earlier karmic alpha release but after this work around was post in bug 44609

Should I file a new bug?
