[Bug 157289] Re: Keyboard input sometimes stops working

uninstalling scim does not fix the problem. I have matlab R2009a and
ubuntu 8.04 with visual effect enabled. The keyboard randomly quit on
Matlab and cannot be recovered unless restart matlab. really annoying.
