Can you post a screenshot of the warning? If it looks like
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/28656063/Metacity.png, then that is
definately from metacity. It is
warn_about_lame_clients_and_finish_interact() in src/core/session.c in
the metacity source (I'm not sure if Compiz has a similar warning or
not, but it does not AFAIK). I've just prepared a patch to Metacity
which switches off this warning at logout (uploaded this morning)
