[Bug 424503] Re: Boot fails with Out of Range Pointer error

I have a IBM Thinkpad T42 with an ATI card.  I edited the grub.cfg file
by hand to remove the offending lines from within a Live session.  I
then fixed the defaults and updated grub file per the instructions
above.  It was still fixed after a reboot.

Here is the info from lspci:
