Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nspluginwrapper
I am running jaunty 64bit on Intel Core 2 Duo.
I have some troubles with firefox and flash.
After some time (but always sooner or later) npviewer.bin starts hogging the full cpu-power of one of the two cores, even if there is nothing to do (only a simple flash-ad) and he still does so, even when I close all tabs with flash.
>From time to time the whole flash seems to crash. Then I only see rectangles, where the flash-ads (or -app) used to be.
I did some resarch, but couldn't find any hint, that there are a lot of
people, with the same problem.
1.)
I found this old post: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-647961.html , which describes exactly the same problem, that I am experiencing. But there is no newer information on that topic.
2.)
I found this old bugreport: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nspluginwrapper/+bug/177856 , which describes the crashing-part of my problems. But it is closed and marked as fixed.
3.)
I found this new bugreport: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nspluginwrapper/+bug/307535 , but I think, that it describes another problem: there are only troubles with a specific flash-page and firefox freezes than. But in my case, sooner or later npviewer.bin always starts hogging my cpu and firefox is still working - though, from time to time firefox get's very slow (and is greyed out by the windowmanager, becaus it isn't responding anymore), although there seems not a lot of work to do for him. But he comes back to live always after some seconds...
** Affects: nspluginwrapper (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
