1)$ lsb_release -a

It's actualy the kubuntu variant, but I guess that doesn't matter

2)I guess that the install is in progress, I have no access to the correct data, but it's the version on the package in the repositories on the 29-31 /10/09 , and the version of the other package is in the "summary"

3)while letting synaptic upgrade packages after alternate cd distribution upgrade, I expected no error to show up.
4)an error showed up suggested I post it here.

The error was accompanied by three apport password requests, followed by three apport crashes.
I'm sorry but I've decided not to post the apport bugs as the crash handler suggests that I shouldn't if passwords were entered.
