The most recent available ClamAV version is 0.95.2, and upgrading is
highly recommended.

If you still have that kind of massive directory, could you try scanning
it with this new version of ClamAV, which should be available on
Dapper/Hardy/Intrepid in the -backports repository (see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports on how to enable it).
