Unfortunately, fixing this bug is going to require some effort. I've
just filed http://bugs.debian.org/552429 so we can decide on the best
course of action.

In the meantime, you can run:
update-alternatives --remove-all mpirun
update-alternatives --remove-all mpiexec
That will make the alternatives system forget about LAM.
