Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: solfege
On every install I've used, Solfege will not produce any sound until I
install the solfege-oss package. It will also give me the error in the
title upon startup.
I am using the default setup - ALSA with pulseaudio
installing solfege-oss ALWAYS fixes the problem.
