Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: read-edid
1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 9.04
Release: 9.04
2) apt-cache policy read-edid
read-edid:
Installed: 1.4.1-2.1ubuntu1
Candidate: 1.4.1-2.1ubuntu1
Version table:
*** 1.4.1-2.1ubuntu1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/universe Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
3) i expected to be able to read the edid information from my monitor
:-)
4) with version 1.4.1-2.1 i had a segmentation fault. I tracked this down into a call to lrmi_vm86.
Then i tried to get the latest source package available and got "Source Package: read-edid (2.0.0-2) [universe]" for karmic.
After installing libx86-dev i configured the sources and made the executables. This time i could get a little bit further. This was due to switching to libx86. However i still am not able to get the edid information. I get the following output:
/get-edid: get-edid version 2.0.0
