I tried other profiles and the problem remains.

My only installed Extension is "Firebug 1.4.3" beside the Ubuntu
modifications 0.7 which come pre-installed with the system ...

I'm not sure if I should disable the Ubuntu extension, but firebug seems
un-responsible for this ...
