Me, too.

With both 1.97 beta3 and beta4. Dual boot/two drives. 70-second delay.

The "problem installation":
Dual booting two hard drives (on an Intel D915GAVL mobo).
GRUB 2 is installed to the MBR of sda, and sda is the first BIOS boot drive.
The Kubuntu 9.10 OS (where /boot/grub is) is on sdb2.
Delay between the end of POST and the appearance of the boot menu is 70 seconds.
During that time, lots of hard disk drive activity going on.

But no problems here:
-- No problem dual booting OSs using my Intel DG33FBC system and only ONE hard drive (and 1.97 beta3 & beta4).

Haven't had much time to look at this, still testing/playing with GRUB
2, but wanted to post an fyi. Annoying delay, especially since I don't
have all my OSs included on a grub.cfg and I manually intervene to boot
them (with "c" key then chainloader, etc.); or need to boot a non-
default OS now and then.
