Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfce4

Description:	Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release:	9.10

Computer: Acer Aspire 5102 WLMi

Problem description: Occasionally keyboard (and sometimes mouse) locks
up. This happens for example when switching to a virtual console from
the graphical interface. Usually even ctrl-alt-sysreq (plus r-s-u-b)
doesn't work, requiring power switch -reboot. The same lock-up may occur
while the machine is idle.

Unfortunately I don't have much of means to figure out, what component
causes this - my best guess is the window manager.
