Felix,

I apologize for the long delay between your prompt response and my answer -
eight hours!

Here's what I copied from the terminal:
wyatt at UbuntuBeta:~$ sudo os-prober
[sudo] password for wyatt:
/dev/sda1:Red Hat Enterprise Linux Client release 5.4 (Tikanga):RedHat:linux
/dev/sda11:Slackware Linux (Slackware 13.0.0.0.0):Slackware:linux
/dev/sda12:Mandriva Linux 2010.0 (2010.0):MandrivaLinux:linux
/dev/sda5:Debian GNU/Linux (5.0.3):Debian:linux
/dev/sda6:Mandriva Linux 2009.1 (2009.1):MandrivaLinux1:linux
/dev/sda7:openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64):SuSE:linux
/dev/sda8:Ubuntu 9.04 (9.04):Ubuntu:linux
/dev/sda9:PCLinuxOS:MandrivaLinux2:linux
/dev/sdb3:openSUSE 11.2 Milestone 8 (x86_64):SuSE1:linux
/dev/sdb5:Mandriva Linux 2009.0 (2009.0):MandrivaLinux3:linux
/dev/sdb6:Red Hat Enterprise Linux Client release 5.3 (Tikanga):RedHat1:linux
/dev/sdb7:openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64):SuSE2:linux
/dev/sdb8:Debian GNU/Linux (5.0):Debian1:linux
/dev/sdb9:Mandriva Linux 2009.1 (2009.1):MandrivaLinux4:linux

It misses Solaris in sda2 and fedora in sda10 but it does see Mandriva in
sda6 and sda12. Oh! And it misses Ubuntu 9.10 beta in sdb2! How curious!

I will restart and see if that helped.

Or is there more I need to do?

Is there a way to tell grub to create the entry for Solaris and fedora?

Thank you very much for your assistance.
