Thanks for the help.  The only file I changed was the default jvm to use
Sun.

It worked fine for weeks, that's why I thought it was a bug.  I got some
eclipse updates and it all went wrong.

What you recommended worked though.  I had to reinstall eclipse using
the Software Center to get Java back but it worked.
