I have a similar problem with Hauppauge Nova-S Plus on Kubuntu 9.10
beta:

kaffeine doesn't show a register card for a dvb card in the setup
window.
It worked already on the same hardware configuration with kubuntu 9.04.
Some kernel update (unfortunately I'm not quite sure which one) broke it
in 9.04 as well. Since then it is broken, even with the new version of
kubuntu.
