Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

This is likely not a high-priority bug given the unusual setup, but I'll
report it anyway.

I decided to test out grub2 on my karmic install by chainloading into it
from grub legacy. This normally works fine. What doesn't is when I
exit out of grub2 to the top-level grub on my system.

I have a hardy-maintained grub legacy on the MBR, which chainloads to
the grub legacy on the karmic partition, which chainloads to grub2.
When exiting out of grub 2, it sends me back to the MBR/Hardy grub
legacy, and chainloading to the karmic grub legacy then hangs until a
reboot, at which point everything works fine again.

To be clear, the "crash" occurs on the following

MBR/Hardy Legacy -> Karmic Partition Legacy -> Karmic Grub 2 ->
MBR/Hardy Legacy -> Loading Karmic Partition Legacy hangs/crashes.

Let me know if more info is needed.
