This bug was fixed in the package grub2 - 1.97~beta3-1ubuntu8

    (see LP #410886).
  * debian/grub-common.init: Create /boot/grub if it doesn't exist, to avoid
    noise on fresh installations.

  * debian/grub-common.init: do not call log_end_msg if not VERBOSE
    (LP: #440879)
