Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nautilus-share
The first time I wanted to activate a share I right clicked on a folder
to share it, it installed the necessary packages, and I logged out and
back in as instructed. I tried again, at first got this message:
"Failed to execute child process "testparm" (No such file or directory)"
After I Google'd it, i found this Debian bug report which may or may not
be related: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=536271,
followed the instruction and additionally installed samba-common-bin.
However, now I get this message:
Samba's testparm returned error 1: Loaded smb config files from --parameter-name=usershare allow guests
lp_load: refreshing parameters from --parameter-name=usershare allow guests
params.c:OpenConfFile() - Unable to open configuration file "--parameter-name=usershare allow guests":
No such file or directory
Error loading services
Further down in the bug report they say to get the newest Nautilus-
share, but the installed version on my system is already the version
after that.
My ubuntu version:
Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release: 9.10
nautilus-share:
Installed: 0.7.2-12
Candidate: 0.7.2-12
Version table:
*** 0.7.2-12 0
500 http://my.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/stat
I expect the share to be activated.
The share didn't activate, instead gave me the response above.
