[Bug 432237] Re: system fails to boot if root partition has errors

I installed today Karmic beta and had this bug. 
Not the first, but the second time i reboot after some upgrade (obviusly, I'm _not_ considering live boot to install!).

What should I do for now? Running fsck from gparted of live cd do not
resolve the problem, why?
