0.5beta1 uses: http://trac2.assembla.com/SABnzbd/browser/trunk/main/SABnzbd.py#L32

Not very different, except that 0.5 prints a different message depending
on whether cheetah is missing or just the wrong version while 0.4
doesn't bother with that difference. I do see that your initial report
was against lucid, but the ppa quote is for karmic. Different result for
different Ubuntu releases?
