Thanks Rogério but that is not my problem. Every thing works fine when
it is plugged in before booting.
But unmounting a USB drive, unplugging it, and then plugging it in
again, does not bring back the usb drive, in the list of storage
devices.
Just in case I misunderstood your comment. I tried running "udevadm trigger" before unmounting. Made no difference.
It also made no difference running it after plugging the USB drive back in.
By the way I am now running Release 9.10 karmic, Kernel
2.6.31-14-generic and GNOME 2.28.1
