Yes. It is somehow related. GDM now starts with the fix posted in #445256. But still both managers are running. First KDM and after that GDM on tty9. The problem with the ALT-keys disappeared by now. (it before was solved by manually restarting the server via Alt-Druck-K)
Aptitude tells about problems with kdm

What should I do now? Post the bug under another title? Rename it?
How can I provide further informations - the output of dpkg is not very exact...
