Greetings,

I am having the exact same issue. Grub-pc successfully load the default
choice, I can also press enter to launch it but ANY other key causes it
to freeze. It seem to act accordingly ie opening the console and stops
right after.

The situation is similar : An aged laptop, upgraded from a previous
version of Ubuntu, and an upgrade from grub-legacy. I have Ubuntu and
Windows in 2 partition from the same hard drive.

I just tried a fresh install, no change. Oh well, I'll wait in grub-
legacy for a fix.

System : Packard Bell EasyNote C3300, Athlon XP-M, Video SiS, 1,2Gb
SDRAM.
