I had the same problem, did the same as Gregor, nothing worked, I then used
aqbanking from lucid (version 4.1.8) and now everything works fine again.

It seems to be a problem of the aqbanking version in karmic (4.1.2),
that apparently has been solved with version 4.1.6, see
the comment for this version in the news tracker of aqbanking:

(Translation: This version solves a bug in the HBCI module that prevented the saving of particular
user and account information. Affected users were not able to retrieve account data)
