[Bug 462864] Re: Timidity - default install - run as daemon does not make sound

I discovered this report while I was trying to run VKeyBD with Timidity
and  I couldn't get sound (config as per Bug #101949).  I uninstalled
the daemon and it worked but I think the problem was that a second
instance from a previous attempt was interfering.  I installed the
daemon again and rebooted.  Everything worked after that.  I did notice
some related syslog messages:

Nov 11 02:11:05 sherwood-l1 pulseaudio[14179]: core-util.c: Home directory /etc/timidity not ours.
Nov 11 02:11:05 sherwood-l1 pulseaudio[14179]: lock-autospawn.c: Cannot access autospawn lock.
Nov 11 02:11:05 sherwood-l1 pulseaudio[14179]: main.c: Failed to acquire autospawn lock

Can't reproduce your bug on my system but check your syslog and see if
you have similar messages.
