Upgrading from 9.4 to 9.1 has messed up my dual boot.  Just discovered
cannot boot my XP install on this machine the suggestion to edit
/etc/default/grub does not work for me no such file exists to edit.
Also when creating an upgrade that changes something as fundamental as
how the machine boots to something not backwards compatible a BIG RED
warning notice should be made prior to any install.  this has rendered
half my machine useless and will take days of google research on how to
manually fix the result of this upgrade.
