Unfortunately I dumped all the email pertaining to this in the round file.  Unless you are the author of the upgrade process, then 'not to worry'.

I was skipping merrily along updating my 9.04 to 9.10 Beta when this happened.  A bug thing popped up and asked if I would like to contibute to the "greater good of Ubuntu".  With my US residence, we are quickly converting from capitalisim to socialism and I thought I would do my part for 'the greter good' and went along with the process.  Just to kind of give this socialism thing a 'trial run'.

I hope these yougsters are not wasting a whole lot of time tracking down anyone who might have tried to contribute and gotten caught up in the cogs of this automated process.  At some point I trust it will just leave us in peace.

I removed and reinstalled gpodder, just some software upgrade glitch.  Not a big deal.

Can anyone comment on exactly what this might be a duplicate of?
