** Summary changed:
- Keyboard mapping 'us' should be default
+ Default key mapping (derived from GNOME setting) in grdc does not work
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: grdc
When creating a new connection, the default keyboard mapping does not
show anything (empty string); when using the empty default, most
extended characters like !@#$% and []{}<>,. are note reachable (i.e.
they show another character).
- In most cases, defaulting to 'us' is usefull because us-keyboards are
- very common; in many cases, grdc will work out-of-the-box.
+ As a workaround, changing the key mapping to 'us' let you type several (mentioned) characters.
+ Because us-keyboards are very common, this is quite a good solution, but it would be better if the default key mapping 'just works'.
