Public bug reported:

par2 fails to repair certain file sets, although it does have sufficient blocks to repair.
This is a known issue, which has also been reported 2 years ago on the sourceforge site, where the project was being maintained. It appears to be no longer actively maintained.

It seems as if a new developer has forked the orginal code, stating that
he cannot get in contact with the original developers of par2, and it
appears as if it is being actively maintained at:
http://chuchusoft.com/par2_tbb/index.html.

I appears to be a simple plugin upgrade to the old par2, and it did
manage to perform repairs on my failing filesets, perhaps the new source
should be considered for this package?

bug report on sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=1594639&group_id=30568&atid=399698,

which refers to this debian bug report:
ttp://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=296387

I have filesets on i386 which consistently fails, but are dealt with successfully on amd64.

** Affects: par2cmdline (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
